...more imagination

I've heard it said that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"... perhaps this is true, but I doubt Jane is trying to flatter me by imitating everything I do. I am constantly amazed at how observant our little girl is. Every day I catch her doing something that she has watched me do...

..like nursing her bear. At least she was modest and found my cover to use.

...by the way, her bear's name is "Baby"; She insists on this, despite our best efforts to convince her that a better name would be "Teddy" or even a simpler, suitable name would be plain "Bear"... but no. "Baby" it is. Funny thing is, even though she calls it "Baby" and treats it like a doll, (notice the bear is present in all the pictures) she still occasionally growls when she sees it. I can't figure that one out.

Here they are getting ready to go, "bye-bye"...

Today, she got a hold of a stack of plastic plates while I was getting ready to have company over. I watched quietly to see what she would do with them, and she went over and started setting them on the table. She said, "Daddy" when she reached up to put the plate at the spot where Aaron usually sits, then proceeded to say, "Mama!" and she put a plate at my spot...

I did not teach her how to do this.
