Sweet Jane. She has really struggled with this whole "big sister" thing. The last couple of days have been pretty hard on her. She doesn't understand why I can't hold her while I'm feeding the baby, and is very jealous. She's had a bit of an attitude and is needing extra doses of love, attention and discipline. Praise God that Aaron is home to help me.
Aaron is AMAZING!! He has been SUCH a tremendous help with taking care of Jane, changing diapers, doing laundry, tidying the house and doing dishes. I am so thankful that he doesn't have to go back to work for a whole week, and then the day after he goes back to work, my mom will arrive from Texas. YAY!! I don't know how I am going to take care of two babies and a house all by myself; so far it's been a full time job for the two of us!!
Ryan is thriving. He is a champ at nursing and the proof is in the diaper. He consistently soaks through the newborn size diaper, and so he's already "graduated" to size one, even though we have to fold them down because they don't really fit. We've nicknamed him "Little Super Soaker" and "Sir Poops-alot"... oh, by the way, I didn't think newborn diapers were supposed to stink. I don't remember Jane having stinky diapers for a long time... Ryan's sure stink to high heaven!! Ever since he was a day old! Here is Aaron prepared for an inevitable diaper change session:
Even though Jane is very jealous of her brother, she is fascinated by babies in general, and Ryan is no exception. She still likes to do everything she sees us doing, and nursing is no exception.

Sweet little Jane...I'm sure it must be hard for her to understand. It will come with time...
Hang in there Jenny! You're doing an excellent job being a wife and mother! It is an encouragement to me to watch you each step of the way...
YEAH!!!! So excited that Ryan is here! I love the name!! And I'm glad to hear that the labobr/recovery has been better than the first time around. Can't wait to see more pictures of your little guy!
Abbey loves to nurse her babies too; she even pulls up her shirt like me. Sometimes her stuffed bunny, Hop, gets nursed as well :) By the way, don't you just love the Brest Friend pillow? I got one this time too. It's great for my back! I will be praying that Jane will adjust to Ryan quickly :)
Awe!
Just a side note, Joshua also had the worst smelling baby poo EVER.. and Ive changes ALOT of baby diapers in my life... as soon as I went off Dairy it was "normal" poo.... might be something his system is not taking to well.. just a thought. :-D
we rejoice with your little family as we review God's tender care and faithfulness one generation to the next; I know your mom, Jenny, will be a wonderful blessing when she arrives to do the grandma thing!
blessings,
Darcie
