
Sauce
- 8 oz plain yogurt
- 1/3 cup chopped seeded cucumber
- 2 Tblsp finely chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp sugar
Meat
- 1 Lb lean ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 ½ tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ¾ tsp pepper
Stuffing
- 4 Pita breads
- shredded lettuce
- chopped tomato
- chopped onion
Directions
- Combine sauce ingredients. Cover and refrigerate.
- Combine meat ingredients and mix well.
- Shape into 4 patties
- Grill (or broil) for about 10-12 mins turning once until meat is no longer pink
- Cut patties into thin slices
- Stuff meat into warmed pitas
- Add lettuce, tomato, onion and yogurt sauce.
